Compostable Cellulose Sponges - Pack of 2
Two reusable cellulose sponges, made from natural wood fibre rather than plastic. Each one holds up to ten times its own weight in water.
Please note: this item does not come with its official packaging. Rather than let perfectly good products go to waste, we send them in compostable brown paper bags.
Why swap
Most kitchen sponges are plastic. They cannot be recycled or composted, they are typically binned after a couple of weeks, and they break down into microplastics over hundreds of years. These are 100% cellulose — natural wood fibre — so there are no microplastics, and they compost at the end of their life.
Using them
They work on bathroom surfaces, kitchen counters and washing up. The sponges are generous, so you can cut them in half and get four for the price of two.
Keep them as dry as you can between uses. You can refresh them by soaking in boiled water, microwaving them damp, or running them through the dishwasher on a drying cycle.
